Drug Distribution Methods in Slav Countries
Recently, I watched the video “Squidward smoked Weed”. According to the plot, he purchases weed from a drug dealer. I got interested immediately, why people purchase drugs from the dealers, if there are lots of other safe methods? The friend of my said, Americans and Europeans still purchase drugs from drug dealers from hand to hand.
As a man, who interested in the history and culture of psychoactive drugs, I have found out about different interesting methods of drug delivery in Slav countries like Ukraine, Russia, etc.
I want to tell you about the process because, in my opinion, they are really fascinating.
Communication
Before we start, I would like to explain how communication is being established between client and dealer is. Not a big deal, but let's find it out.
Telegram tags
If you walk by streets of post-soviet countries, you will definitely see strange tags on the walls like:
Telegram is a messenger very popular in post-soviet countries (by the way, it’s really much more functional and captivating rather than WhatsApp, Viber, etc).
Every user has its own, unique nickname he can be found by. This tags are telegram nicknames that lead directly to chat with drug dealer. Here where the communication starts…
Websites and forums
It is unclear to me why they are still alive, but an enormous amount of drug selling websites are accessible from the internet in these countries. Even if not, plenty of familiar sites or mirrors of the sane sites could be reached from TOR network.
Chat between client and dealer can be established on these sites inner chats, or dealer can ask you to move to telegram chat.
Payment
After the client has selected wished stuff, It’s time to pay. There are a couple of variants to transfer money.
Credit cards
I have no idea who will going to use credit cards as a payment method in such illegal domain as drug dealing, but it is. Some dealers offer credit cards as a payment method.
In my opinion, the only way to use it more or less safely, is to buy idle credit card, that was registered on the other person. Should I remark that both client and dealer must use fake credit cards to stay anonymous? (Or use e-wallet with a function to send money on credit card).
Grey e-wallets without passport requirement
There are set of e-wallets, that let you register and make any transaction without any personal information except for your email, that can be created in 3 minutes. Cons of this method are the giant fees of e-wallet service that allow you to do such thing.
Crypto
Last, but not the least. There are giant set of crypto that let you send money more or less anonymously. Clients and dealers use crypto wallets and exchange services to do that. It is a mainstream in a world of drugs.
Hidden packs or treasure
The plain old method of selling drugs in Slav countries is through the “hidden packs” or treasure (I don’t know how to translate it to English exactly).
The algorithm looks like this:
- The client pays for the order.
- Dealer’s courier (separate worker), packs drugs and search for a good point to hide the package within or outside the city, far from cameras and other people's eyes.
- When the package was hidden, the courier sends geolocation of this point and instruction how to get the package.
Obviously, this is the most dangerous method for both the buyer and seller. Everything because it looks quite odd when a strange dude starts to dig a hole with his hands near the tree or pillar. People passing by can easily notify police about such events and here two variants: you are a pirate, and you're trying to find treasure, or you're just a drug addicted / courier.
Pre-hidden packs
The only difference is that packs with drugs are hidden before client comes to the drug dealer. Client can choose only from existing points. The dealer’s role is shrinking, to send geolocation, instructions for the client and hire couriers who will hide these packages.
I know the case when the purchasing of drugs was implemented with a telegram chatbot’s, where you don't even need any dealer’s involvement. Everything is automated. The black market has its own innovations, isn’t it?
Quite ridiculous method, but it works. All drugs will be sent by mail, but it also has its own nuances.
Post office
The plan is simple: the dealer sends you a package by mail. Obviously, this package will be covered in so-called “stealth layers”, that hides smell from special detectors, dogs, etc.
The main problem is that you don’t know exactly how the mail chain works. You don’t know exactly how the security department acts with all packages, the degree of scanning. It feels like a black box because you don’t know how does it work inside.
Your real name is not an issue because lots of mail services let you create an account on fake name and get mails on the fake account via mobile application.
Self-service mail post
Quite safe method. Some mail services place their self-service mail post, that allows you to get packages without prying eyes and staring security cameras. All you need to do — create a fake account on mail provider site and open your cell.
I know the cases, when people set self-service cells to deliver packages in deserted places with a very low people traffic.
You can check the surrounding area for no people or police. You can open cell anytime. None of the police will patrol there all day, ever knowing someone will arrive to take an illegal package.
The only chance to be caught in such a situation is when the police know that you exactly will come to the self-service male cell and when you will arrive.
Taxi
Ok, that really odd. Dealers get orders at day and start to pack deliveries to the end of the day. After all, they call taxi drivers with “package delivery option” and send them to clients. Just need a special guy who will organize delivery to all points.
Summarizing
It is quite interesting to watch what methods drug dealers come up with in the situation, when they are permanently searched by the police and other law enforcement agencies.
